Does anyone know how it feels to get ready for a job that you hate, dressing in navy scrubs from head to toe, only to get screamed at by individuals who don’t know who you are or what your true intentions are? 

To help.

My only true intention is to help others. Why does no one understand that there are kindhearted people out there who only want to help? When did this world become a world where everyone is against one another?

You try and try to change. You apply for jobs that you truly desire, only to receive the same response, “We appreciate you taking the time to apply, unfortunately, we are going in another direction. Good luck.” It’s the good luck at the end that really gets me. It would’ve been luck if this was it. My chance. My time to really shine and show the world what I’ve got. To live in a different world that didn’t leave me too tired after my main job to do the writing that my heart longs for. The world where I am not crying over this direction that I want but am not worthy of having yet.

Maybe something is wrong with me that I can’t land a job that everyone else seems to find. Or maybe it’s this corrupt job system that won’t take a chance on someone who worked her butt off for her degree, only to end up back where she was before, but at least she has the big fancy paper. Because my god, I was worried I would never get the fancy paper that cost thousands of dollars.

The only thing it did for me was leave me broke, discouraged, and empty. Super super empty.

The only way out of this rut is for hiring managers to take a chance on those who lack professional experience. Because if that’s the only thing stopping them from giving someone the job, then that hopeful applicant will be screwed for the rest of their life because there is no way to get professional experience if no one is willing to take a chance on them and give them their shot. The same shot hiring managers were given before they became high on the pedestal. Every young applicant is looking for a chance.

Just give them a chance.
