Count the breaths
you breathe in. Breathe
the same number out.
Feel the air you breathe
as it glides to your lungs.
Feel the cool breeze as it brushes
against your smooth skin.
Listen to the sound of birds
chirping outside your cracked
window. When it’s warmer
you can join under
the flaming sun. Feel the trill
of crickets that ring
in your ear before it dissipates
into a memory. One that will be written
down in your pink, floral notebook.
